The Wade Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in Angola, IN invites applications for two full-time faculty positions. Anticipated start date is January 10, 2012. The department offers an ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Engineering degrees with mechanical or biomedical engineering majors. Trine University is a small, private institution located in the beautiful lake resort region of northeastern Indiana. The mission of the University is to provide productive, work-ready graduates to industry. High quality teaching is our first priority. However, faculty members are expected to engage in professional development activities and develop/maintain appropriate industrial contacts.

Position #101: The ideal candidate will have expertise in the thermal sciences and the ability to teach a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate mechanical engineering courses including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. Preference will be given to applicants having internal combustion engine expertise and the ability to teach internal combustion courses and labs. Excellent English communication skills and a commitment to teaching are required. Competence in the MatLab software package would be a plus. The position requires a doctorate in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a closely related field and will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. In lieu of tenure, the University offers term contracts from one to five years, depending on academic rank and years of service.

This position requires a minimum of a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and completion of academic coursework for Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. One year of experience in industry or the equivalent of one year of university teaching experience is required. Teaching experience may be gained during graduate studies.
