Head Tennis Coach
Trine University (Angola, IN) is accepting applications for the position of Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach. The position for the head coach must focus on recruitment, organization, and administration of an NCAA Division III Varsity tennis program which currently competes in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Conference.
Responsibilities include the recruitment of male and female student-athletes who are interested in playing tennis on the collegiate varsity level, maintaining and supervising the operation of tennis facilities, and the promotion of the sport by developing and hosting instruction, camps, fund raising, and events offered to the community and general public.
Preferred candidate will have had head or assistant coaching experience with the sport of tennis at a competitive collegiate level. Experience and knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations are preferred. Good public relations, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential with the ability to work compatibly with current athletic department staff and administration.
Bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree preferred. Teaching certification is required from either USPTA or PTR. Assignment/Stipend can begin immediately to promote and evaluate active recruiting for the fall 2012 academic year and to possibly assist with the current program. Full-time employment will begin in June.
