Overview of position +
- Employee Type: Full Time
- Required Education: The position requires a doctorate in civil engineering or a related engineering field, with a specialty/concentration in structural engineering.
- Location: Angola, IN
Responsibilities +
The position requires teaching undergraduate civil engineering courses in the individuals area of expertise, a civil engineering materials course with laboratory, engineering mechanics courses, and first year engineering courses. Excellent English communication skills and a commitment to teaching are necessary.
Individuals with relevant working experience are especially encouraged to apply. Professional engineering licensure or the capability of obtaining licensure within a few years after joining Trine University is preferred. The position is at the assistant professor level, though exceptionally well qualified applicants may be considered for associate professor. Review and evaluation of candidates will begin immediately. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
The civil engineering program was founded in 1902, and has been continuously ABET accredited since 1970. The mission of the University is to promote intellectual and personal development, through professionally focused and formative learning opportunities, preparing students to succeed, lead, and serve. Teaching is the first priority; however faculty members are encouraged to develop and maintain appropriate contacts with industry and to participate in scholarly activities.
