Graphic Designer / Creative Media Specialist


SUMMARY
This position is creative in nature and requires creative graphic design skills to obtain the multiple marketing goals of the institution through the Department of Brand & Integrated Marketing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • The creation and recommendation of art on institution print collateral designs, advertisements, billboard and other media outlets through graphic design and art skills.
  • Consults with campus client, production specialist and/or director to evaluate scope and direction of various project requests.
  • Assists in organizes the gathering of information and data for projects.
  • Assists in the creative art directing process of photo shoots to be used in print collateral, website, billboards and e-communications.
  • Obtains and oversees the process of cost estimates from outside vendors such as paper suppliers and printers.
  • Presents final project to director for art and quality check prior to production release.
  • Maintains accurate records of all projects.
  • Is an active participant of the creative marketing team sharing ideas and critiques in a respectful manner.
  • Willingness to share entire skill set to benefit team members, the department and the institution in marketing efforts.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the director.

COMPETENCIES
Individual must possess above average skills in graphic design. Individual must be extremely creative and work well within group settings. Knowledge of photography, video production and online marketing a plus.

COMPUTER SKILLS
Individual must possess above average computer skills on a Macintosh with experience in all Adobe Creative Suite 5 (CS5) products.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Individual must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in graphic design or related field. At least three years previous experience in graphic design is preferred.
