Mechanical Engineering - Internships

Internships and Co-ops

The mechanical engineering department has opportunities for co-operative employment for those interested in gaining real-world engineering experience. Students in the Co-operative employment program alternate semesters working at a Co-op partner's facility and taking classes. A minimum of three work assignments is required to complete the program.

Typical initial assignments  include updating engineering drawings, creating solid models from existing drawings, running a routine test or monitoring the quality of manufactured products. Typical final assignments include designing a new product or process, developing and supervising a test procedure, or developing and implementing a quality control program.
