Master of Engineering
The rapid pace of technological advancement has resulted in a demand for engineers with advanced training. There is growing support for the concept that the master's degree should be the first professional degree for the practice of engineering. A proposal to require one year of education beyond the bachelor's degree for registration as a Professional Engineer is now being considered in many states. Engineers with the skills necessary to lead the design of a complex system are highly sought by industry. By emphasizing advanced design skills, development and research, the Master of Engineering program addresses this need.
Trine University offers the Master of Engineering with majors in Civil, Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering. Trine's unique program offers the opportunity for students to complete both a bachelor's degree and an engineering master's degree simultaneously. Well-qualified high school students may be admitted directly into this five-year program.
Students seeking admission directly into the Master of Engineering must have a bachelor's degree in the appropriate engineering field or closely related discipline. A grade point average of 3.0 or higher on all undergraduate work is required. The Master of Engineering program requires 32 credit hours.
Master of Science with a major in criminal justice
The Master of Science with a Major in Criminal Justice (MSCJ) program is an accelerated degree program that provides education for both pre- and mid-career individuals serving their communities as law enforcement, corrections, or court practitioners. Students may also be employed by private agencies that deliver services in the justice arena. The curriculum is designed to prepare these professionals to assume key leadership roles within the justice system or the private sector. This master's program is available at all School of Professional Studies locations and some courses can be taken online through the Trine Virtual Campus.
Master of Science in Leadership
The Master of Science in Leadership (MSL) program is designed to provide advanced training in people- and problem-oriented competencies that determine success. The organizational leadership program is prepared for students who have achieved undergraduate degrees in a variety of professional content areas, thus serving a wide range of educated adults. This master's program is available through the School of Professional Studies.
