Mission Statement
In concert with Trine University, the mission of the School of Professional Studies is to provide quality, continuous higher learning opportunities for adults who want to begin or advance in careers, enhance lifelong learning, and keep pace with the growing complexities of today’s world.
The summer of 2005 introduced a significant evolution in the mission of the School of Professional Studies (SPS). Begun more than a decade ago to focus on career-oriented learning for adults, SPS today offers four types of educational opportunities:
- Four-year degree programs
- Master of Science with a Major in Criminal
Justice (New) - College courses for high school students
- On-site training for local businesses
Classes within the School of Professional Studies are taught by professionals committed to quality education and a depth of learning who work full-time within their individual fields of expertise.
Degree Programs
Since 1994, Trine University has focused on the educational needs of adult students by offering small classes that encourage a high degree of student/faculty interaction. Evening, weekend, and online classes are designed specifically for busy working adults. The following degrees are offered at all campuses:
- Bachelor of Applied Management
- Bachelor of Business Administration
(Accounting, Human Resources, and
Management majors) - Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice
- Bachelor of Science in Psychology
(New) Trine Fort Wayne Now Offering Two New Degree Programs
- Bachelor of Science in Emergency
Management - Master of Science with a major in Criminal
Justice
Trine North also offers the following Associate degree
programs:
- Associate in Accounting,
- Associate in Business Administration,
- Associate of Applied Science in Plastics Technology,
- Associate of Applied Science in Process Control.
Middle College
Highly regarded by state education leaders, Middle College opens Trine’s college classes to high school students for dual-credit opportunities. Visit the Middle College page to learn more.
Training To Go
SPS has begun reaching out to regional businesses and industries to create educational partnerships that go beyond traditional classroom learning. On-site training is one key offering of SPS. Call us to learn more.

The School of Professional Studies is conveniently located throughout northern Indiana. Classes are available at Trine North (Angola), Trine Fort Wayne, Trine South Bend, and Trine Merrillville.
