Franks School of Education
Franks School of Education
Teacher preparation first began at Tri-State Normal College, now Trine University, in 1884. “We shall always have a teachers’ training class, for the benefit of those who want to teach,” proclaims a school pamphlet published in 1886.
Since those days, when a teacher candidate took just four courses for 12 weeks to become a teacher, many things have changed. Our commitment to prepare the best educators has not. Today, the Franks School of Education is dedicated to:
- helping you develop and expand your content knowledge;
- helping you develop teaching strategies so children of all ages and abilities learn and grow (communication); and
- helping you expand your knowledge of caring indicators and your ability to show all children you care.
