Biology explains miracles
You’re a deep thinker, a problem-solver, and curious about the world. Biology takes you deep into science and explains its miracles. Why can a living organism, composed of the same elements in similar proportions to a piece of rock, think and live, but the rock is inert? The study of biology explains this miracle, taking you beyond merely studying organisms and their environment. At Trine, you’ll explore the latest advancements, including discoveries in molecular biology and biochemistry.
Explore
Trine offers a thorough education in the classic principles and techniques of the biological sciences. You’ll also learn to apply that knowledge to contemporary issues and problems. Trine's small class sizes encourage one-on-one discussion, active student participation and mentoring from professors. Trine's faculty will acknowledge and foster your individual goals, and you’ll enjoy access to them as well as laboratory resources and computer centers.
Experience
Trine University’s biology program uses new technology to train students in modern, recombinant DNA techniques in gene cloning and chromosomal genetics. You’ll use human physiology and anatomy equipment in Trine's laboratories.
Senior Research Project
As a senior, you’ll participate in a
research project and may partner with localcompanies, organizations, and/or research laboratories. Trine students have published and presented their research at state and national levels. Students often combine their research project with an internship to gain practical experience in their field.
Excel
A degree in biology prepares you for work in government and industry, such as pharmaceutical sales, teaching, environmental management and conservation, forensic science, medicine, research and more. It’s a valuable foundation for graduate programs in health-related fields, genetics and marine biology-fields pursued by recent graduates of our biology program.
