Communication: Skill to Give You the Edge
If you’re looking for an edge in the marketplace, you need to develop versatile skills that put you in great demand by employers. Communication is an area that applies across the board. This field helps you hone your ability to think critically, solve problems, and write and speak effectively. Trine’s program focuses on developing sharp skills, knowledge and preparation that gives students the edge over other job applicants.
Trine's faculty work one-on-one with students in small classes to help them develop exceptional skills in speaking, writing, researching, decision-making and problem-solving while you sharpen your reasoning and critical thinking skills.
Trine's focus on practical application of theory and knowledge will help you recognize how to apply your communication skills effectively in a variety of written and oral contexts. This will enable you to be productive early in your professional career. Trine's hands-on emphasis will begin during your freshman year with the first-year practicum, where you’ll participate in on-campus communication activities. This focus will continue throughout your education, culminating in a senior capstone internship or project that puts you in the field using the skills you’ve acquired.
Trine offers especially strong preparation for a career in public relations, corporate communication, or electronic media. The skills you learn would also help you succeed in law school, graduate school or in a variety of careers, such as journalism, marketing, sales and business.
