Requirements
Program Educational Objectives
We provide programs that assure that our students shall:
- Be technically competent;
- Possess problem-solving skills;
- Possess communication and teaming skills;
- Possess awareness of the societal impacts of technology.
The Computer Science Major Curriculum
The curriculum requires the completion of 128 semester hours
of course work. The average course load is 15-16 hours based on
eight semesters. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
requires that students meet Trine University general
education requirements, and succeed in 30 hours of humanities and
social science courses, 32 hours of technical math and science, 40
hours of computer science and computer software engineering,
and select electives in consultation with a faculty advisor.

indicates those courses that satisfy Trine's general
education requirements.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science – 128 hours
*Written Communications – 6 hrs.
*Oral Communication – 3 hrs.
*Social Science & Humanities – 12 hrs.
*Mathematics & Science – 18 hrs.
*Computer Literacy – 3 hrs.
General Engineering – 2 hrs.
Computer Science Core – 37 hrs.
CS Program Mathematics and Science – 14 hrs.
CS Program Humanities & Social Science – 18 hrs.
CS Advanced Technical Elective – 3 hrs.
CS Program Electives – 12 hrs.
