General Business allows you to “test drive” a Trine University business major!

Explore
Many students have a general idea that they want to have a business career but are not yet ready to commit themselves to a specific focus. The general business program provides students with the opportunity to “test drive” business opportunities by taking a variety of courses. All courses transfer easily into every Trine University business major.

Students taking the general business curriculum can choose a major by the end of their second year and still be on track for graduation in four years.

Experience
The Ketner School of Business (KSB) offers a hands-on, practical business education with an entrepreneurial focus. Graduates from KSB are well-prepared to begin their careers in a wide range of industries and businesses—from large corporations, to non-profit organizations, to family-run and small business enterprises. Because a large number of our students go on to work in leadership roles in family businesses, or even start their own businesses, the KSB core curriculum exposes students to a wide range of disciplines within business, and focuses on providing students access to numerous opportunities to build skills and technical proficiency through experiential learning. Amidst the backdrop of corporate business scandals and executive dishonesty of recent years, the Ketner School of Business is deeply committed—through classroom discussion, case analyses, and student leadership opportunities—to developing business graduates with the highest degree of personal and professional integrity.

All KSB faculty have work or consulting experience in their fields of expertise; real-world experiences, perspectives, and insights are shared in a personal classroom environment in which students and faculty freely interact. KSB students develop a strong sense of community within the School and with the greater Angola area as well. By participating in student organizations such as Students in Free Enterprise, KSB students work on projects that provide concrete business solutions for area businesses and organizations, and offer their business acumen in community service projects.

Excel
Because KSB students graduate with a rich variety of practical experiences as well as a solid academic foundation, Trine University business graduates confidently make a smooth transition from college life to the work world. Regional employers take notice of Trine University grads: Nearly half of KSB’s most recent senior class accepted jobs even before graduation. Our commitment to students’ personal, professional, and ethical growth leads our graduates to solid career opportunities within all facets of the business world.
