Internal Accomplishments (service)

  • Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies. Marketing the Master of Engineering program using a new original technique for distant online education
  • Member of Academic Standards Committee. Chair of this committee until the beginning of this semester
  • Chair of the committee to review of the mechanical engineering curriculum. The new curriculum was approved by the department and the school.
  • Developed architectural engineering minor with Dr. Doug Schmucker from Civil Engineering Department.
  • Approved by the ME and CE departments
  • Designed and built laboratory equipment in the senior design class for the HVAC laboratory with funds provided by ASHRAE.
  • Developing an electronics cooling laboratory using funds from 21st Century Grant


External Accomplishments/Activities

  • Presented the paper “Using Equation Solver Programs to Teach Design of Pipe Networks” during the 2006 summer ASEE meeting
  • Abstract accepted for the paper “Design of a Micro-Scale Cooling System for High Power Electronics, Industry-University Partnership” based on the 21st Century Grant
  • Member of the ASHRAE and ASEE professional organizations
  • Received grant from ASHRAE for the senior design course
  • Meet with visiting prospective students
  • Advisor of the SAE student organization
  • Renewed a grant from Intergraph for the SmartSketch software
  • Regular summer consulting job in HVAC
  • Sponsored students for the ASHRAE undergraduate scholarship. A senior in mechanical engineering received a $3,000 scholarship last summer.
  • Worked with Purdue, Delphi, and other companies in 21st Century Grant
