Q: How much does it cost for international students to attend Trine for one year?
To attend Trine, a student will need to document the availability totaling the minimum of $34,000 U.S. Dollars. Acceptable documents include bank, stock account statements, and the International Student Certification of Finances form.
Q: As an international student, can I receive transfer credit for my previous college-level work?
A: Yes, if Trine offers the same course, you may receive transfer credit for your previous work.
Q: Do you offer financial aid for international students?
A: Trine offers scholarships available to all degree seeking students with a record of high academic achievement. Scholarships are not available to ESL students.
Q: What is the on-campus housing policy?
A: Trine University has only a limited amount of job opportunities on-campus for American students, and therefore cannot provide jobs for international students.
Q: What are the application deadlines?
A: The application deadline for fall admission is May 1. The deadline for spring admission is October 1.
Q: When must my tuition be paid?
A: Payment of tuition, fees, and room and board is due at the Business Office on the date indicated on the student's bill.
Q: How do I find a roommate?
A: If you are living on-campus and you do not request a specific roommate, you will be assigned a roommate(s) based upon the information you provide on your housing application.
Q: How do I apply for on-campus housing?
A: To apply for on-campus housing go to Housing Information Form.
Q: Who do I ask for help to obtain a visa?
A: When you have completed the steps to apply for Trine, the Dean of Admissions will issue you an I-20.
Q: How do I travel to Trine University?
A: You can reach Angola, Indiana via air travel by flying to the Fort Wayne International Airport (located approximately 1 hour away from Angola). Transportation will be offered from the Fort Wayne International Airport only. Notification is required in advanced. Please send arrival information to williamsm@trine.edu

Q: Must I have medical insurance? From where do I obtain this? How much does it cost?
A: All international students will be required to carry Trine University's student insurance unless they are government sponsored and can provide proof of insurance through a sponsor. The semester cost is $425 U.S. dollars. The annual cost is $850 U.S. dollars. The summer cost is $505.

Q: Can I work on-campus?
A: Trine University has only a limited amount of job opportunities on-campus for American students, and therefore, cannot provide jobs for international students.
Q: What are your academic terms?
A: Trine operates on semesters. A new academic year begins the third week in August. There are two semesters in an academic year.
Q: What documents do I need to apply for admission?
A: After applying online, you should send all secondary school academic records. These records should include all courses taken, grades received and degrees or certificates earned. An explanation of your school's coding system used to evaluate your work should accompany the records. Make sure to add all post secondary. Send all these records in ENGLISH to:

Q: As an international student, can I study English at Trine?
A: Yes. Trine offers an intense English Language Center designed to help students whose native language is not English. This class is recommended to those students who have lower than a 550 TOEFL score in order to successfully complete college-level classes.
Q: Can you issue an I-20 to an international student?
A: Yes, an I-20 is issued once an international student has been admitted. (To apply for a visa, please send your I-20 documentation and acceptance letter to the U.S. embassy in your country.)
Q: What is the minimum TOEFL requirement for an international applicant?
A: A minimum TOEFL score of 550 is required on the paper test, or 213 on the computerized version as a degree seeking student. If lower the student will be requested to take English as a Second Language (ESL).
