![]() Sports Score Trustees OK expansions The Tri-State University Board of Trustees approved recommendations in July on a range of improvements geared toward increased student enrollment and enhanced athletics at TSU. New student apartments and a revision to the master plan in regard to athletics will begin to change the face of the university yet this fall. The master plan now includes the construction of a separate field house with 200-meter indoor track. Shive Field will remain “open air,” and artificial turf will be installed to accommodate football and lacrosse. Other improvements will include the construction of new facilities on the north side of the field, to include press boxes, locker rooms, weight and training rooms, and offices. The practice football field will also be renovated. The Thunder Sports Park will receive an upgrade, including the installation of sidewalks, concession stands, restrooms, and an improved parking area. Hershey Hall will receive new weight rooms and office areas. On Zollner Golf Course, redesigned bunkers and the addition of water hazards will increase the levels of interest and difficulty for golfers.
