Athletics shine brightly TSU winter sports impress The TSU wrestling team has enjoyed great success this winter. Bryan Wight (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) and Louis Posa (Tecumseh, Mich./Clinton) captured the school’s first Little State Wrestling Tournament titles. Women’s basketball player Sarah Howe (Monroe, Mich./Monroe) was named the MIAA Player of the Week after the Thunder split a pair of games through the week of Nov. 19-15. Howe averaged 20 points, eight rebounds, and four assists on the week. Men’s basketball player Andre Patrick (Skokie, Ill./Evanston Township) was honored by the MIAA as the Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 7-13. Patrick put together back-to-back double-double performances as the Thunder split two league games. He averaged 13 points, 13 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. Junior Tony Benford (Muncie, Ind./Southside) scored a game-high 31 points and joined TSU’s 1,000 career point club in a contest against Albion College Jan. 26.
