Trine Celebration

Over 700 community members and friends attended a celebration commemorating our name change to Trine University on Aug. 1. Many activities punctuated the celebration, beginning at 11:30 a.m. with the unveiling of the Trine University entrance signs at the main boulevard entrance. Well-wishers then moved up the boulevard to witness the first raising of the Trine University flag by Trustees Ralph and Sheri Trine. A picnic lunch in tents set up on the Best Hall lawn near the entrance followed, with prizes and music. WEAX 88.3-FM broadcast live from the site, and an airplane pulling a banner celebrating the name change soared overhead.
