Education. Creativity. Hard work.
This issue of Discover magazine will testify to their power to transform the world. As you enjoy this collection of stories on the accomplishments of Tri-State University business entrepreneurs, time and time again you will hear of the impact of TSU courses, professors, advisers, and resources on a unique core of graduates who have achieved a high level of success. While we can’t take credit for the character, imagination, and work ethic which engendered such stellar achievement, we hope we can lay claim to a measure of their success as educators, nurturers, and developers of their unique talents. We take immense pride in their success, not only as representatives of TSU, but as innovators who have made life better, easier, and more enjoyable for others. They have changed our world. As you turn these pages, you will also learn of a new entrepreneurship program TSU will launch this fall. Through a combination of business, communication, finance, management, and marketing courses, TSU students can prepare to follow in the footsteps of the alumni featured in these success stories. The entrepreneurship major will equip students with a dream of private business ownership and the tools to build such a life. In addition, you will hear of our new master of engineering program, which allows students to complete dual degrees in five years. Because of this innovation, TSU engineers will enter the marketplace with on-the-job experience already to their credit, with a minimum time investment. As we continue to add programs which ensure the success of our graduates, we look to the support of our alumni—to their wisdom, as they advise on the new entrepreneurship program; to their vision, as they collaborate on ways to further improve the University; and to their monetary contributions, without which we could not fulfill our mission as a premier university on a global scale. So enjoy this Discover issue, and as you peruse the university, alumni, and sports highlights from the past semester, remember that as alumni and friends you have and will continue to play a vital role in creating the vast reservoir of opportunity that is today’s Tri-State University.
