2012 season in review

The men’s tennis team finished with the most wins and their first winning season becoming an NCAA school. The Thunder also finished the year winning won more than 10 matches for the first time as well.

 

Trine was in the hunt for a conference tournament bid right down to the end of the season and they needed to win one of their final two matches but were unable to pull out a win over tough opponents. Four different individuals finished the season with winning records on the season. Nick Ihrie and David Murray led the Thunder with 16 singles wins while Dan Desper and Zach Richardson also had winning records.

Desper was named to the All-MIAA First team after being a first team selection in 2011. Desper finished the season with a record of 14-11, including going 4-2 in conference action at second singles. Desper also had a doubles record of 9-12.

This marks the fourth straight year that the men’s squad has had a player named All-MIAA. It’s also the first time in school history that both a men’s and women’s player has been named All-Conference in the same season.
