Thunder Track & Field

2011-12 Season in review
It has been a season of record setting for the Trine track and field team, especially on the women’s side as they have set eight records. Freshman Trisha King has proven to be unstoppable in the 400m as she broke the school record en-route to winning the event at the MIAA Jamboree on April 14. King along with juniors Annalisa Krug and Sannie Anderson and fellow freshman Allison Everetts set the 4x400m relay record twice, once indoors and then again outdoors. Katie Finch, Kayla Criswell along with Everetts and King also set the 4x200m relay record during the indoor season.
Other records that have been set including King in the 800m, Courtney Stahl in the weight throw and Katie Finch in the pole vault.
On the men’s team, freshman Tyler Bourdo was named the MIAA’s Men’s Track Athletes of the Week for meets through April 21. During that week he won the 400 meters at the Sparky Adams Invitational at Baldwin-Wallace with a time of 49.64, third-best in the MIAA at the time. Bourdo has also been performing well in the 200m, long jump and been a part of several top relay squads.
For the first time in school history, the Trine track and field team has three athletes named All-MIAA as junior Dustin Stutzman and freshmen Trisha King and Tyler Bourdo. King is the first female Trine track athlete to be named All-MIAA.
