Thunder Wrestling Coaching Staff
Dan Callahan launched the Thunder wrestling program in 2004.
During his eight seasons, the Thunder have compiled a 61-52-1 record, including winning the Mid-States Conference title in 2009-2010, as well as being NCAA Midwest regional runner-up in 2009 and 2010. Callahan also has been named as the Mid-State Conference Coach of the Year in 2006-2007 and 2009-2010.
Under Callahan, the program has produced a two-time NCAA All-American and 11 Academic All-Americans.
Entering the 2012-13 season, his career record, including 19 years as a high school wrestling coach is 328-165-9.
Prior to coming to Trine, Callahan coached at the high school level for 23 years, including 19 as a head wrestling coach.
Callahan is a graduate of Rochester High School, Rochester, Ind. and Alma College, Alma, Mich. Coach Callahan resides in Fremont with his wife Cindy, a fourth grade teacher, and has two children, Megan and Kyle.
Andy Uhl joined the Trine wrestling staff in the fall of 2012. Uhl came to Trine after a successful wrestling career at Division II University of Findlay where he earned a degree in Hospitality Management.
While at Findlay, Uhl was a four-time All-American; Academic All-American; and Regional Champion. After a 6th place finish as a freshman at 125 pounds, Uhl captured the NCAA Division II crown in his sophomore season at the 133 weight class. Uhl would finish his career with runner-up and 6th place finishes in the 133 division.
Prior to attending Findlay, Uhl was a four-time Indiana State Wrestling Qualifier while attending East Noble High School. In his senior year, Uhl finished second in the state tournament at 125 lbs.
