Sexual Assault Prevention Seminar on Monday October 22 @ 5:00 pm WITMER Clubhouse |
| Description |
Why is it important to learn about sexual assault? 1 in 6 women and 1 in 33 men will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime. College age women are 4 times more likely to be sexually assaulted. Every 2 minutes someone in the U.S. is sexually assaulted. Approximately 73% of rape victims know their assailants.
What will I learn? The sexual assault seminar will present ways to reduce your risk of sexual assault (through methods such as: avoiding dangerous situations, safe drinking, etc.). In addition, participants will learn things such as the types and effects of sexual assault, recovering from sexual help, and how to get help for him/herself or someone else who has been a victim of sexual assault.
