Take Back the Night

Best Hall

210 University Avenue
Angola, IN 46703

Participants are asked to meet on the north lawn of Best Hall. In the event of inclement weather, the event will take place in Best Hall room 229.

At 7 p.m., guest speaker Tena Dellaca-Hedrick will share details about her transition from assault victim to survivor.

The march will begin at Best Hall and continue to Monument Circle, also known as "the mound" at 7:30 p.m. to show that people are united to confront sexual and domestic violence and violence against women and children. Back by popular demand, men will be asked to "Wear a Pair" of women's shoes during the march so they can see what it feels like to walk in a woman's shoes.

The evening concludes with a candlelight vigil in support and honor of victims' rights. It will also serve as a reminder that all human beings have the right to be free from violence, the right to be heard and the right to reclaim those rights if they have been violated.

Pizza, sandwiches, refreshments and games will be available.
