Taking Charge
After graduation, Darrell Quander, Jr. was one of 25 individuals selected from over 500 interviews across the country to join Parker Hannifin’s sales engineer training program. Upon completion of the 2 year training program, Darrell will be assigned a sales territory within the US. While working on his degree at Trine University, Darrell also worked as an intern with Parker Hannifin for five term sessions in their hydraulics & airborne division. The internship experience definitely helped Darrell in securing his position with Parker Hannifin.
While at Trine University, Darrell also participated in Varsity Football, several student organizations, including the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the Multicultural Student Organization, was a coach and referee for the Youth Football Camp and volunteered for Special Olympics. Darrell is also an avid martial arts student, earning a 2nd degree Black Belt.

Educating the Future
"My experience at Tri-State University (now Trine) was tremendous both professionally and socially. Through my teacher training I learned to look at the individual needs of each student and design lessons to meet those individual needs. This way of thinking transferred beautifully to my graduate training in speech-language pathology since so many of my students require individualized programs. With my background in teaching I can effectively work with classroom teachers ensuring that my students with language and processing deficits are able to be successful in the classroom setting. Socially I continue to stay in contact with many people I met at Tri-State and have developed friendships that will last a lifetime."
Louis Dachtyl III, 2000 graduate, elementary education major
