Whitney Doyle

Graduate Whitney Doyle´s passion for people and for Trine University led to her job as Trine´s Director of Student Life from 2008-2011.

The tightly knit student body at Trine University adds to its appeal and family atmosphere, says graduate Whitney Doyle. As a Trine student, she was a member of Sigma Tau Delta, worked for The Triangle Newspaper, hosted Wakin´ Up with Whit on WEAX 88.3 FM Morning Show, and participated in the Blue Crew Spirit Club. "By getting involved, I met a lot of people along the way who have become lifelong friends."

Whitney´s love for being around people led her to major in communications. Her professors spelled out the various opportunities in her profession, inspiring her to pursue a variety of internships to gain firsthand experience in the field working in journalism, marketing, and public relations.

"I interned with the LaGrange Publishing Company, which publishes three different newspapers. I was treated as if I were a professional journalist, and they had me covering everything from local high school graduation commencements to vandalism in a local cemetery. Not only did I better my journalism writing skills that summer, but I also learned that I didn´t want to pursue a career in newspapers."

Working as a publicist for a local nonprofit, then performing public relations functions for Trine steered her toward her current position.

"My job as the student activities coordinator allowed me to give current Trine students the same great collegelife experiences that I had while I was a student here. I have such a strong attachment to the University and look back upon my four years as a student as the best, most enjoyable four years of my life.

In 2011, Whitney transitioned into a marketing position at Life Care Centers of America, located in Lagrange, IN., where she is currently employed.
