Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice

Trine University is a small, private institution located in the beautiful lake resort region of northeastern Indiana. The mission of the University is to provide productive, work-ready graduates to industry. High quality teaching is our first priority and a normal course load is twelve to fourteen credit hours per semester. Faculty members are expected to engage in professional development activities and develop/maintainappropriate industrial contacts.

The Opportunity

The Department of Criminal Justice, Psychology and Social Sciences of Trine University invite applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position beginning in August, 2015. 


The primary responsibilities of this position are teaching introductory and  upper-level criminal justice courses.   Other duties include curriculum development, internship supervision, academic advising of students and participation on university committees.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate superior teaching ability, and a strong commitment to working with undergraduates.

Education and/or Experience

A Ph.D./Psy.D. or MS/MA degree in criminal justice or closely related field with teaching experience is required (with preference being given to the candidate holding a Ph.D.).

The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. In lieu of tenure, the University offers term contracts from one to five years, depending on academic rank and years of service.
