The Opportunity

Trine University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Franks School of Education beginning August 2016.  The Franks School of Education positions its teacher education graduates to be effective K-12 educators through the incorporation of extensive clinical experiences and utilizing performance-based measures for assessing teacher candidates’ readiness.  Our program is state accredited and designed within a field based, student centered, and innovative setting. Curricular emphasis includes foundations of education, educational psychology, differentiation, technology integration, and assessment.


EducationResponsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in the K-6 teacher education program, in elementary (K-6), special education (Mild Interventions K-6), or secondary curriculum and instruction. Supervision is required in the field-based courses along with academic advising. Candidate must have a clear understanding of the function of teacher education programs including professional mentoring and current research in teacher education. Ongoing collaboration with colleagues and school partners is required.

Education and/or Experience

An earned doctorate in elementary education, special education or related content field is preferred.  A minimum of 5 years of US teaching experience or record of collaboration and a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level is required.

The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. In lieu of tenure, the University offers term contracts from one to five years, depending on academic rank and years of service.
