Medical Director - Physician Assistant Program

Summary

Trine University is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, personable and optimistic physician-educator to join our team as the program's founding Medical Director. The position is part-time with amount of obligation negotiable. The Medical Director is responsible for supporting the Program by providing knowledgeable medical guidance for the clinically-related program components, so that both didactic and clinical instruction meets current standards. In addition they may assist in attaining and assessing clinical clerkship sites and advocating for PA clinical practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Medical Director - PA Program

The Medical Director is responsible for supporting the Program by providing knowledgeable medical guidance for the clinically-related program components, so that both didactic and clinical instruction meets current standards. In addition they may assist in attaining and assessing clinical clerkship sites and advocating for PA clinical practice.

Other responsibilities may include instruction in the didactic year, student advisement and mentoring, program, department and college committee service, community service, and scholarship. The Medical Director may also engage in clinical practice as a part of assigned duties. The Medical Director reports to the Trine University PA Program Director.

Education and/or Experience

Must be a MD or DO with a minimum of 3 years practice experience.

Must have prior experience working with a PA or have knowledge of the PA profession and be able to effectively advocate for the PA program and profession.

Must have a IN license or be eligible to apply for one.

Must possess strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary

The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
