Writing Center Coordinator & Lab Instructor

Trine University is seeking a part-time instructor to help organize and coordinate Writing Center scheduling and teach a supplementary first-year composition lab for underprepared and/or at-risk students. This population will also include first generation college students and international students. Candidate must have excellent knowledge of the conventions of academic English, excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills, and good Microsoft Office Suite software skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach lab to bridge between Humanities and Communication department and the Writing Center (based on developed curriculum)
  • Oversee the scheduling of lab and Writing Center visits
  • Report attendance and participation to the relevant composition instructor
  • May assist with program development, curriculum enhancement, and other administrative duties at the request of the Writing Center Director and/or the Chair of the Humanities and Communication Department
