Athletic Director Jeff Posendek

Jeff Posendek’s service to his alma mater is measured not in hours, but in years – 25 of them.

Jeff and his wife, Anne, graduated from TSU in 1977, and since then Jeff has given back wholeheartedly to the school that nurtured his dreams. His many years of service on the Alumni Board of Governors and Board of Trustees led to his acceptance of the job as Trine athletic director in fall 2008. He received the university´s Distinguished Alumni Service Award in 2006. While serving on the university boards, he built a stellar 30 – year reputation as an educator in Lakewood, Ohio, earning the Ohio Assistant Principal of the Year Award in 2004.

The new job brought him full circle back to Trine University. "This position made it possible for my family to relocate to an area and a university that has meant so much to us over the years. The community and school have been extremely helpful with the relocation, and it has been a very rewarding experience being around so many people that we consider our friends and now neighbors," Posendek says.

Trine offers a rich college environment, he says. "The atmosphere at Trine is truly what one would expect on a college campus. The focus on student success, whether it is on the field, in the classroom, or at campus activities is a theme that has always impressed me. The incredible support of faculty, alumni, and administration, and working with a very dedicated group of coaches and support personnel adds to the fun and excitement of such a great program. I also credit the support we receive from our Board of Trustees, and know how much they care about the success of this institution," he says.

He has cherished memories of his college days. A member of Delta Chi fraternity, he played drums in the TSU Pep Band and worked as a DJ on the campus radio station, WTSC, when it operated in Stewart Hall back in the day.

He and Anne have two sons, Scott, of Columbus, Ohio, and Brian, now enrolled at Trine. Jeff is a 30-year drummer who also has a passion for the game of golf.

He praises Trine for its development of professionals. "We are fortunate to have an institution that really focuses on individuals having successful careers," he says.
