World traveler's passion for teaching leads to research, creation of learning games
B.S., Master of Arts, Ph.D. - Ball State UniversityFrom rural villages in Africa to urban neighborhoods in Indiana, I am passionate about walking with teacher candidates on their unique and challenging path in becoming an educator. As a former kindergarten through sixth-grade elementary teacher and now as a professor in higher education, it is my ultimate goal to prepare, inspire and support my students to become effective teachers who will change the lives of their future students. I am driven to engage teacher candidates to become conscious of their own strengths and intentional in their future educational endeavors.
I have conducted and presented research focusing on how mentoring, gender, race, culture and social emotional intelligence can affect the elementary classroom. I also enjoy creating online educational games for a handful of national organizations.
I have been blessed to travel around the world with my incredible wife. We enjoy our time raising our daughter and spending time with family and friends.
