Meet Tom Trusty

Trine University - Allen School of Engineering

Tom gets his students ready for life after graduation.

B.S. Purdue University; M.T.E. Ball State University

I joined Trine in 2007, and bring two decades of teaching and consulting expertise in computer aided design to my department. I have delivered award–winning instruction in undergraduate and corporate training environments, worked alongside engineering, surveying and architectural professionals as a CAD consultant and assisted pioneers in computer aided design education in program development and instructional methods.

I have been an adviser and invited speaker to the Indiana chapter of the National Tooling and Machining Association, where I maintain an active membership, along with memberships in the Association of Technology, Management and Applied Engineering, (in which I am a certified industrial technologist), Autodesk User Group International and American Design Drafting Association.

At Trine, I am dedicated to building work–ready skills beyond academics as I engage students in volunteer projects with community organizations.

Outside the classroom, I coach youth baseball, basketball and the Trine Thunderstorms FIRST Lego League team. I enjoy golfing, boating, hiking and biking with my wife, Kelly, and two sons, Blake and Evan.
