Meet Bill Lipman

Trine University - Ketner School of Business

Educator/entrepreneur extraordinaire.

B.A. Ball State University; M.B.A. University of Saint Francis

I joined Trine University in 1999 as a professor of management, marketing and Spanish. Prior to entering the academic arena, I was president of Bob′s Sport Shop in Angola, the family retail business, for 31 years.

My area of expertise is developing managers and creating future business leaders. I have published the articles "From Main Street to the Mall" and "Mom and Pop to Mall Denizen" for two national sporting goods trade magazines.

I received the Trine Excellence in Teaching Award for Business in 2003 and 2008, and am president of the Angola Economic Development Committee. During my tenure at Trine, I initiated the SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) program that won regional Rookie of the Year honors in 2003. I am the faculty adviser for Delta Mu Delta, a national business honorary society, and a member of the board of directors of the Trine Christian Campus Fellowship.

My hobbies are golf and fishing. My favorite quote is: "The will to succeed is important, but I'll tell you what is more important...it's the will to prepare." That's from Bob Knight on the television show "60 Minutes" in 1976.
