Living a healthy life and teaching others about the science of exercise keeps Catherine Swick energetic.Sport Management & Exercise Science; B.S., M.Ed., Ph.D. – Bowling Green State University My dedication to teaching includes more than 18 years of higher education experience. I foster innovation in the classroom and engage students through community service, case studies and technology so they will be competitive in the health and physical education profession. I recently was honored by the State of Ohio for receiving "BG′s Best" for outstanding contributions in the field of higher education. I have presented at numerous state and national conferences and received external grants to promote physical activity and wellness across the lifespan. I have developed and delivered new curriculum to meet needs in the sport management and exercise science fields. I have supervised numerous service–learning projects, internships and honors research in the health and physical education fields. I take pride in assisting students as they work to achieve their educational and career goals. Outside the classroom, I try to lead healthy life and enjoy hiking, waterskiing, show skiing, gardening and reading. I love to ask people if they got their 10,000 steps today. If not, I have them ask me how to get started. It′ s no surprise, then, that my favorite quote is, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step," from La–Tse. |
