Professor Laker trains students (and his dog).B.S., M.P.A., M.A. (Indiana University) As Department of Criminal Justice, Psychology & Social Sciences chair, I have worked to create an award–winning program. My experience in probation, corrections and law enforcement has led to a program grounded in theory and practical applications, with interesting courses in institutional corrections, criminal justice administration, and the always-popular serial killers. I have coached the Trine American Criminal Justice Association chapter′s handgun competition and crime scene teams to numerous regional and national titles, earning the 2008 Jim Hooker Outstanding Adviser Award. After teaching at Concordia University, University of Cincinnati and Indiana University, I know the academic advising, class size, instructor interaction and campus life make Trine special! A Fort Wayne, Ind. native, I live in Auburn with my wife, Suzanne, and our three daughters, Alexandria, Elizabeth, and Emma. Last May, Peyton Manning, a chocolate lab, joined our family! He has become a wonderful athlete and great family pet – GO COLTS! I also enjoy water sports, home projects and crime novels. |
