When Jamie Canino, Ph.D., is not in the classroom, he′s engineering rockets and spending time with his family.Mechanical Engineering; B.S. – Milwaukee School of Engineering; M.S.E./Ph.D. – Purdue University. Currently, I am teaching classes in the thermo–fluids area in the Wade Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. I earned my doctorate from Purdue University while working with NASA on rocket injector designs. Then, I went to The Aerospace Corporation, where I worked with the U.S. Air Force on the Atlas and Delta rockets and with NASA on the Ares I rocket. People often ask me if that makes me a rocket scientist. I say, "No. I′m a rocket engineer." When I′m not teaching classes, I like to do dog agility with my gold retriever, Lexus, and play with my 2–year–old daughter. My daughter and I like to relax after a hard day of playing by hitting the swings for a while. If you would like to talk about rockets, the aerospace industry, dog agility or anything else, please feel free to call or e-mail me. |
