Trine helps new students,
parents prepare for college life

ANGOLA, Ind. – Incoming freshmen, transfer students and their parents get a chance to learn all things Trine University during orientation next week.

During SOAR - Summer Orientation and Registration (website), students on campus for a day can meet fellow students, meet one-on-one with their academic advisors to register for fall classes, meet coaches, check out housing and roommate information, visit the financial aid office, learn about the many services available, get their student IDs and set up email.

"We're excited to host our new students and their families as students enter Trine University to pursue their dreams," said Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine president. "This summer tradition offers a great opportunity for new Trine community members to meet fellow students, faculty and staff."

While new students are out and about on campus, their parents and support providers can learn about resources and services to help students succeed, listen to a student panel, meet coaches, take a self-guided tour of residential buildings and get any needed information regarding financial aid or other matters relating to their student's enrollment at Trine.

Classes are scheduled to begin Tuesday, Aug. 20.
