Event will feature a panel of professional women and their insights

MARCH 17 – This semester’s “Power of the Purse” presentation will feature a panel of professional women sharing insights and answering audience questions from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31 in Best Hall 229.
Panelists will include:
- Dr. Elicia L Harris, OBGYN
- Debra Williams-Robbins, Assistant Superintendent, Ft. Wayne Community Schools
- Jennifer Guard, CHE'02, Sr. Materials Engineer
- Jennifer Smith, CRJ'14, Law enforcement officer
The diverse panelists will share their experiences in achieving success in historically male-dominated fields, in facing and overcoming obstacles and in developing confidence in their own judgment. They will also provide the audience with guidance on how women can succeed in today’s society and on what to prepare for in a young woman’s college and post-graduation career.
Power of the Purse is a program that aims to implement and develop programs and projects to advance and improve the personal, economic and professional status of women.
This free event is co-sponsored by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Employment Resource Center, Offices of Alumni and Development, International Services, Student Success & Retention, Student Services, Kappa Sigma Alpha, Multicultural Student Organization, Society of Women Engineers, and Tau Beta PI.
