Everyone invited to attend free event

FEB. 1 – Trine University’s Multicultural Student Organization (MSO) is marking its 25th year and reminds community members to join in its Peace, Diversity, and Unity celebration Friday.

A keynote speaker and themed dinner are key elements of the celebration that includes an evening of culture and music to highlight Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy and Black History Month. Tim Lake, Ph. D., pastor of Union Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, will deliver the keynote address. He will discuss how King’s message continues to resonate peace, diversity and unity throughout the nation. MSO will also host two choirs from Pilgrim Baptist and Union Baptist churches in Fort Wayne. 

Bon Appetit, Trine’s food service provider, will host a soul food fest dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. in Whitney Commons, Rick L. and Vicki L. James University Center, 720 Thunder Drive. Cost is $12.64 for adults, $6.31 for children 6 to 12 and free for children younger than 6.

This free event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday in Fabiani Theatre in University Center.
