Favorite musicals will come to life this month during a concert at Trine University.

Trine's Musical Theatre and Opera Ensemble will sing selections from favorite musicals at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 21 in Fabiani Theatre in the Rick L. and Vicki L. James University Center. The free concert will feature songs from “Phantom of the Opera,” “The Producers,” “Tangled” and others. The concert is part of Trine's Free Concert Series.

“This program is unique in that it exclusively features music chosen by the students themselves. Through singing music they love, the students are able to truly express themselves and make their performance come alive,” Ashlee Bickley, director, said.

Ensemble members include:

  • Joshua Marty, a senior chemical engineering major from Clyde, Ohio;
  • Tyler Marx, a junior social studies education major from Waterville, Ohio;
  • Evan Warfel, a junior computer engineering major from Waxhaw, N.C.;
  • Megan Miller, a freshman music major from Angola;
  • Brandon Sarasin, a senior sport management major from South Bend.

Each student will sing a solo selected from his or her favorite musical. Laura Dallman, an adjunct music instructor, will provide piano accompaniment.
