Trine's Shell Eco-Marathon team

Trine Eco-marathon team travels to Detroit

Trine University's Shell Eco-marathon car team took its senior design project to a competition April 10-12 in Detroit.

The team finished 18 out of 42 team with 398 mpg. This was the second year the team completed and the first year to finish all seven laps required to get a score.

The team consisted of:

  • Kyle Craig, a mechanical engineering major from Scottsburg;
  • Kaleb Fondren, a mechanical engineering major from Burlington, Mich.;
  • Matt Graham, a mechanical engineering major from Bluffton;
  • Tyler Guyas, a mechanical engineering major from Syracuse;
  • Rhys Jones, a mechanical engineering major from Saanich, British Columbia;
  • Jared Myrick, a design engineering technology major from North Vernon;
  • Jacob Schroder, a mechanical engineering major from Rochester;
  • Chris Stewart, a mechanical engineering major from Rochester Hills, Mich.;
  • Pravendran Taseandram, a mechanical engineering major from Selangor, Malaysia;
  • Connor Wiederhoeft, a mechanical engineering major from Scipio;
  • Bradley Wolfe, a mechanical engineering major from Lebanon, Pa.

Christina Brinkmann, a freshman finance major from West Chester, Ohio, served as a driver. Jamie Canino, Ph.D., and Joe Thompson accompanied the team to Detroit.
