Trine faculty and staff excel in giving
Trine University set a record in annual giving with 97 percent of faculty and staff backing the effort, raising more than $75,000 from Aug. 1, 2014 to April 30, 2015.
“I am proud of the outstanding commitment from our team,” said Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine president. “The extraordinary giving rate sends a positive message to our students, alumni, parents and friends that our employees back what we are doing here.”
Many departments at Trine recorded a 100 percent participation rate and Trine’s overall rate of 97 percent tops giving totals for comparable institutions. The Council for Advancement and Support of Education reported on average that baccalaureate institutions experience less than 35 percent participation in giving efforts from their employees, based on data from 2013.
Trine is also beyond the halfway point of a $75 million Invest in Excellence campaign and has raised $57.5 million, or 77 percent of the goal, as of April 30. The campaign was designed to support the annual fund, provide for capital renovations and new construction, and increase institutional endowment.
The annual fund provides money for institutional aid for Trine students and 98 percent of students receive some form of financial aid. During the 2014-15 academic year, Trine gave $24 million in gift aid to students.
