Career, internship fair to be Feb. 2
ANGOLA — Trine University is encouraging people to “power their futures” by attending the fourth annual Career and Internship Fair on Thursday, Feb. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University Center Mall on Trine’s main campus in Angola. Nearly 50 employers are looking for students and college graduates to fill co-ops, internships and full-time positions in a variety of industries.
“This event connects recruiters with high-quality, work-ready students and graduates with internships, co-ops and full-time positions,” said Terry Johnson, career fair coordinator.
The majority of employers are in the engineering industry; however, several companies are in the criminal justice, business, science and human service fields. Employers include Steel Dynamics, government municipalities, Nucor Building Systems/Vulcraft, Beckman Coulter, ITT Exelis, nonprofits and Three Rivers Federal Credit Union.
Parker Hannifin Corp. is the platinum sponsor, and CrossRoad Engineers, Walmart, Elkhart Products are the gold sponsors for the event.
“The success of the career fair is due to the loyalty of alumni who come back to their alma mater looking for employees,” Johnson said. “This year, the majority of our employers have connections with our alumni.”
Alumni (from any institution of higher education) are welcome to attend the fair. Professional dress is required, and job-seekers should come with resumes in hand. If your company would like to participate, contact Trine University’s office of career services at (260) 665-4123. For more information, visit trinecareers.org.
