Trine ensembles, community members
to present 'Gloria' on March 24
Free concert will take place
in Dale Hughes Auditorium
ANGOLA, Ind. – Trine University music ensembles are teaming with community members to present Vivaldi’s “Gloria.”
Trine Vocal Ensembles, Trine Orchestra and musicians from Angola and the surrounding area will present “Gloria” at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 24, in Dale Hughes Auditorium in the Steuben County Community Center, 317 S. Wayne St., Suite 2I, Angola. Admission is free.
Monica Vernot, director of vocal music, will direct the concert.
“Gloria” was composed by Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741) around 1715 and was undiscovered until 1920.
“This 45-minute performance will be filled with beautiful Baroque choral music and orchestration, highlighted with solos performed by Trine faculty and students,” Vernot said.
On Sunday, March 17, Trine ensembles will perform a Celtic-inspired concert at Tibbits Opera House, 14 S. Hanchett St., in downtown Coldwater. Admission is free.
