Trine deemed a 2012 best college

Princeton Review names Trine one of its ‘Best in the Midwest’

 

Trine University is one of 153 institutions The Princeton Review recommends in its "Best in the Midwest" section of its website feature, "2012 Best Colleges: Region by Region," that posted Aug. 1 on PrincetonReview.com.  

"We're pleased to recommend Trine University to users of our site as one of the best schools to earn their undergrad degree. We chose it and the other terrific institutions we name as 'regional best' colleges mainly for its excellent academic programs,” said Robert Franek, Princeton Review's senior vice president and publisher.  “From several hundred schools in each region, we winnowed our list based on institutional data we collected directly from the schools, our visits to schools over the years, and the opinions of our staff, plus college counselors and advisors whose recommendations we invite. … Only schools that permit us to independently survey their students are eligible to be considered for our regional 'best' lists." 

“In addition to our challenging academic programs, improved facilities and technologies and campus culture, it’s truly our commitment to our students that has earned Trine the ranking of one of the country’s most prestigious institutions,” said Trine president Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D. “We are committed to preparing our students to succeed, lead and serve in businesses and their communities.”

The 153 colleges that The Princeton Review chose for its "Best in the Midwest" list are in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Collectively, the 629 colleges named "regional bests" constitute about 25 percent of the nation's 2,500 four-year colleges.

For this project, The Princeton Review asks students attending the schools to rate their own schools on several issues – from the accessibility of their professors to quality of the campus food – and answer questions about themselves, their fellow students and campus life. Students made many comments, including that “Small class sizes make for a very personal education that is geared toward the real world at Trine.”
