Trine's TGear store open, welcomes new manager
The TGear Store, Trine University’s apparel and gift shop at 705 W. Maumee St., is open for business and a new manager has come on board.
Steuben County native Jeannie Hancock, who has more than 20 years of retail and business experience, is managing the store, which is open to the public and students alike. Proceeds benefit Trine’s athletic department to support student-athletes.
“I get to meet people from all over, and I just love that,” Hancock said. “As athletes have been moving in this week, their families have stopped in the store. They’ve been from California, New Jersey and other parts of the country. It’s been great.”
Hancock said that many of her customers have noted how friendly the people in Angola have been. She agreed with them, adding that she’d moved away from Angola three times, but was drawn back each time.
“This place just becomes home after a while,” Hancock said.
In her new position, Hancock creates new designs for apparel and assists customers with personalized embroidery requests, which are available to customers who purchase items in the store for an additional fee. Athletic apparel covering all sports, band, cheer and dance is available for purchase.
Specials will be offered each month, so check the store for details. This month all children’s clothing is on sale. Every Tuesday, all shoppers can take advantage of a 20 percent off discount on merchandise.
TGear is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. After school starts, the store will be open until 5 p.m. Those who aren’t in Angola, but would like to peruse options can visit www.trine.edu/tgear. While you can’t place orders online, people can call the store at (260) 243-4415 and place an order.
