Orchestra, choir, chorale
to perform Christmas favorites

ANGOLA — The Trine University Music Department will host its annual Holiday Community Concert Dec. 5 from 4-5 p.m. in the university’s Fabiani Theatre.

All are welcome to attend this event, which will feature Trine’s chamber orchestra, university choir and the Trine chorale.

“We are excited to share this annual event with the community,” said Earl D. Brooks II, president of the university. “Last year, we experienced a standing-room-only crowd during the lively concert.”

Those who wish to attend should bring an unwrapped gift for a teenager between the ages of 13 and 18. Gifts will be donated to teenagers of local under-resourced families through Project Help of Steuben County. Gift ideas include: bracelets, necklaces, fuzzy socks, CDs, hats, DVDs, cologne, perfume, make-up, hoodie zip-up sweatswirts, flannel pajama bottoms, backpacks, paperback books and age-appropriate school supplies.

A holiday dinner buffet will be available from Bon Appetit in Whitney Commons immediately after the concert until 6:30 p.m. Meals cost $10.50 for adults and $5.35 for children ages six to 12. Children under 6 will eat free of charge.

Decorated Christmas trees from student organizations and departments will be on display in the University Center mall area. Last year, 38 trees were available for viewing. All are welcome to vote for their favorite trees. Trees will then be donated to Project Help families in Steuben County.

“Project Help has assisted countless families since it opened in 1989, and Trine has made a tradition of giving back to those who are less fortunate during the holiday season,” Brooks said.
