Russian Scholar visiting Trine
Public invited to Russian display
Russian scholar Vladmir Koblov will visit Trine University on Wednesday, April 22. The public is invited to meet Koblov and view a Russian display table in the University Center mall from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Koblov works at Ural State University of Economics in Ekateringburg, Russia. He has vast experience in the areas of technology, engineering, and mechanics, and will discuss chemical engineering senior design projects with Dr. John Wagner and his students in Fawick Hall during his visit.
He will also speak with English grammar students in Taylor Hall at 2 p.m., with professor Jalena Statsenko of the Department of Language & Humanities translating. Other highlights of his visit will include a tour of campus and lunch in the Bateman Dining Room.
Koblov graduated from Ural’s Governmental Technical University in Sverdlovsk, and then worked as a senior scientific worker in the Scientific Research Institute of Chemical Engineering of Sverdlovsk. Under his leadership, multiple research and development projects on the creation and introduction of advanced technologies and equipment for the nuclear industry and for the recycling of industrial and domestic wastewater and solid wastes was undertaken. During that period, 65 scientific works were completed and publicized, and six USSR patents were granted for equipment then applied to production.
