Trine accepts accreditation
ACBSP accredits Ketner School of Business
Trine University President Earl D. Brooks II and educators from the university’s Ketner School of Business (KSB) attended the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) annual conference in San Antonio, Texas in June, where the university was recognized for earning ACBSP accreditation for its business school this year.

Accompanying Dr. Brooks were Dr. VK Sharma, KSB dean, who formally received the ACBSP accreditation for the business school, and KSB professor Dr. Sherry Shipley, who also made a conference presentation. Her presentation, “Achieving Excellence Through Accreditation,” detailed the KSB accreditation process. Dr. Shipley and Dr. Sharma also made this presentation at the ACBSP Region 4 conference at the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio.
ACBSP develops, promotes, and recognizes best practices that contribute to continuous improvement of business education, and accredits qualified business programs.It is the leading specialized accreditation association for business education, supporting, celebrating, and rewarding teaching excellence. It encourages faculty involvement within the contemporary business world to enhance the quality of classroom instruction and to contribute to student learning.
KSB educators devoted two years to meeting the rigorous requirements for ACBSP accreditation. They will now begin work on the accreditation process for the school’s sports management program. “KSB faculty and staff have made becoming the business school of choice for outstanding future business leaders our goal,” Dr. Sharma said.
