Trine expands ABET accreditation
Computer engineering joins ranks
Trine University has earned ABET accreditation for its computer engineering program after a visit from the accrediting body in fall 2008.
The recognized accreditor for college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology, ABET is a federation of 30 professional and technical societies representing these fields. ABET ranks among the most respected accreditation organizations in the U.S., with a history of providing leadership and quality assurance in higher education for over 75 years.
During the visit to Trine’s Allen School of Engineering & Technology (ASOET), ABET also reaccredited all of the Allen School’s previously accredited programs--the bachelor degree in chemical, civil, electrical and mechanical engineering. The accreditation of the computer engineering program extends retroactively from Oct. 1, 2007.
“I congratulate the ASOET faculty for their outstanding effort and success,” said VK Sharma, dean of the engineering school and interim dean for the Ketner School of Business. “I am proud of their achievement.”
